Leveling Up

Spring officially began a couple of weeks ago. Have you seen signs where you are? California is having a SuperBloom to kick off spring. Wildflowers are covering the landscape. In my home, we are celebrating this season of new beginnings with our little foster kittens. It’s been a while since I have heard the sweet mews of bottle babies in my home.

April 5 is a new moon in Aries. As a spring baby, I am an Aries myself and definitely tend to jump into new opportunities without a second thought. As a child and young adult, I was quite reckless and have since learned the art of taking risks with optimism and exuberance but also with open eyes. The standard advice out there is to be careful during this new moon about jumping too quickly. But remember that every experience you have, including the difficult ones, offer an opportunity to learn and grow. Do not be afraid. But do keep your eyes open. Undoubtedly, you already have some rich life experience to draw from for guidance as you navigate these new beginnings.

Consider this… What would life be like if you greeted it with the excitement, energy and fearlessness of a child matched with the wisdom and life skills of an adult armed with the lessons learned from previous experiences. In this way, you would not view challenging past experiences as mistakes but as “leveling up”. Those levels of the game were the tough ones, sometimes even the ones that had to be played over and over before mastering and moving on. But regardless, you celebrated your graduation and departure from that level and greeted the new level with a fresh energy and enthusiasm. You also brought with you the skills learned on the previous levels to allow you to be successful at the next level.

So ignore those that inspire fear and hesitancy. Run out there with open arms and open eyes. Drink up life and enjoy!
